The Blue Lord was the supreme god of the Aztecs, also known as Huitzilopochtli. His name means Hummingbird of the south and all the human sacrifices were offered to him. He was portrayed as hummingbird because human sacrifices resembled the hummingbird piercing the flower for the nectar.
